About Me
I have worked within health care, Domiciliary, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (Nursing auxiliary), Personal care assistant, residential and nursing homes, most of my working life. Including working with people who have had Mental Health issues, Dementia, Autism, and learning disabilities. I have completed my level 3 in Adult Health and Social Care.
I am a level 4 qualified Foot Health Practitioner (FHP), trained with the ‘College of Foot Health Practitioners’. I am registered with The Alliance, The Register for Private Foot Health Practitioners. Reg No 10181. I continue expanding my knowledge, and personal development by completing independent and face to face training and attending conferences. I am DBS checked.
I have a lot of patients who at first were embarrassed by their feet. Please do not be embarrassed by your feet, I have seen a lot of feet….. DO NOT let this be your reason to delay your foot health.
So why become a Foot Health Practitioner, well its simple, working in care I have seen some feet, and I always wanted to do more than wash them, so the person was comfortable and mobile. Reduced mobility impacts on our mental and physical health so much.
Happy Feet for your today’s lifestyle.
Comfort = independence, by reducing foot pain barriers = Keep Smiling.
Foot Health Practitioner
I am a foot health practitioner. (FHP) and qualified to provide routine foot care services. Nail trimming, this includes thickened, fungal infected or in growing. Corns, calluses (hard skin) removal, verruca treatment, diabetic foot care and provide general foot health advice and practices for you to carry out at home.
If required I will refer you to a podiatrist (chiropodist) for complex foot conditions or nail surgery or your GP.
The role of foot health practitioner has been around since the change of the health bill in 1999, when being able to call yourself a Chiropodist or Podiatrist required you to complete a degree or prove extensive prior knowledge. Podiatrist (Chiropodist) are protected titles by law.
